Job done - now for the Play-Offs

One-nil down and down to 10 men, things weren’t looking good but thankfully we dug deep and got the desired outcome. Despite our ups and downs we are in the play-offs, which, after being relegated last term bottom of the Premier League, is an achievement.

Obviously we set our aim at automatic promotion but now we have as good a chance as anyone to progress and we’re excited by the prospect.

The week itself started on a low; the loss to Scunthorpe was a blow, the performance wasn’t good enough and there were a few discussions as a team in the effort to get us in the right state of mind to face Blackpool.

The game being on a Sunday meant we had an extra day's training which, in hindsight was a good thing. training was intense early in the week and lighter Friday and Saturday, all with a focus on the Blackpool game.

Middle of the week I was given the opportunity of presenting awards to the Watford girls' teams from age 10-16. It was a fun evening and was good to see the effort going into the future of women’s football in Watford.

The week finished with the end-of-eason awards ceremony. Tommy deservedly walked away with Player of the Year trophy and the importance of his goal against Blackpool underlined that he’s been our most consistent player this season.

I was awarded the Community Ambassador award which I felt very privileged to receive. It’s the second time I’ve been given this award and it’s for the work I do in the community. I very much enjoy doing my bit when it comes to going to schools etc but to be acknowledged for it is always nice.

So the beginning of another huge week, all minds firmly focused on Sunday and once again I sincerely hope I’ll be writing another positive piece after that game...
