Reflections on a "bad day at the office", injury progress and a new website!
A bad day at the office as we go down 5-0 at West Brom.
There haven’t been many bad days to speak of so far this term but, by all accounts, Saturday was certainly one of them.
Being injured, I didn’t make the trip so can only go on second-hand information but from what I hear it sounds like there weren’t many positives to take from this defeat.
It’s never easy playing away in this division, and even more difficult when you face one of the top teams. So to be 2-0 down within a matter of 20 minutes will always leave you with a mountain to climb.
As with the good performances we were wary not to get too high and believe all the hype; the same can be said after a bad day, as I say it is only one bad performance and nothing to get too upset about.
We’ve got another good week ahead of us and an interesting home game at the end of it. Preston are also one of the top teams but, again, if we can find that form we’ve shown the majority of this season then we won’t have any problems.
I guess what I’m saying is that it’s important we don’t brush it under the carpet as there will be many lessons to learn from a game such as this, but at the same time we can’t let this affect us. One of our big strengths is our ability to bounce back when needed and I’m sure there’ll be no change this week.
On a personal note I’m hoping to be fit again soon. Thankfully the injury isn’t too serious so I’ve spent the past week working hard in the gym.
I’ve also launched a goalkeeping workout on DVD that I have created, more details of this can be found at www.gkworkout.com
Bye for now.
