Delight Despite Injury

Rich's knee injury prevented him travelling to Boro, but he's already had the low-down on a great win

Well, what a fantastic end to the week - an away win at Middlesborough shows just exactly what we are capable of.

Unfortunately I was unable to take my place in the squad on Saturday due to a knee injury so I can only go on what I’ve heard but by all accounts it was a fantastic day for all involved with Watford.

I’ve spoken to a few of the lads and it sounded like a thoroughly professional display, we defended resolutely when needed and kept a vital clean sheet. I was also delighted to hear Tom notched again. He’s been inspirational since he joined and long may it continue.

As I mentioned above I picked up a knee injury earlier in the week, I struck a ball and felt a sharp pain in my knee. It’s quite swollen right now but I should know within the next couple of days as to the extent of the problem. All being well it isn’t too serious and I’ll be back in the squad in the next week or so.

So another important time ahead and two games to mention: Ipswich is never an easy place to go and Sheffield Wednesday are a club on the up so we have no illusions that we face two tough games, but if we can recreate the form we showed against Boro then it could well be another fruitful few days.

Bye for now
